Winner

Mott MacDonald, Chester Bus Interchange

The new bus interchange in Chester, which replaced the existing bus station, brings together all local bus services, park & ride programmes, free ‘Shopper Hopper’ transfers and coach services into one place. Mott MacDonald provided analytical and design services to Cheshire West and Chester Council for the interchange project, preparing a business case to show how it would unlock the economic growth benefits of the nearby £300m Northgate mixed-use development.

The judges said: “Mott MacDonald’s Chester Bus Interchange project submission clearly outlines the benefits experienced by users of accessible transport project: financial, environmental, cultural and social – all of which are vast and makes this a deserving winner!
