The 3rd Annual Sustainable Travel & Technology Expo, including the LSTF National Conference

Smarter Travel 2015 – Call for Papers

Event Programme Submissions: Closing date - Extended to 27th October

Introduction:

We are on the cusp of a new transport revolution, as sustainable travel imperatives and new technologies combine to change the way we get around. At this event we will both celebrate the acheivements of the Local Sustainable Transport Fund (LSTF) and set a new agenda for smarter travel in light of new opportunities presented by new technologies.

The challenges:

  •          Energy supply & climate change

  •          Air quality concerns

  •          Health care and obesity

  •          Growing and Aging population

The Local Sustainable Transport Fund has made substantial use of new technology, such as mobile apps, smart ticketing, travel information and mapping systems. Since the programme’s inception, technology has moved forward and presents new opportunities to the sustainable transport field.

Leaps in smart phone technology, advances in mapping and transport information applications, shared transport platforms, GPS on shared bikes, advances in battery technology reducing the price of EV cars and bikes, telematics, social media and autonomous vehicles provide a plethora of new tools to the sustainable transport field, and are already changing the way we work and get around.

Call for Papers:

We are asking for organisations and practitioners with an interest in being involved to get in touch to propose papers for the Smarter Travel 2015.

Papers are requested that will showcase new technologies and discuss their increasing role in sustainable transport policy and delivery.

Papers are also requested that detail the best of what the LSTF has achieved in all aspects including: Travel Planning, Business Engagement, Marketing, public bikes, new infrastruture, integrated transport, and more.

We also call for papers that will present details of the plans for the 2015/16 LSTF programmes.
